A tape was leaked of Trump having an inappropriate conversation with Billy Bushof “Access Hollywood” about women in 2005 — even though he was currently married to Melania Trump at the time.
The tape transcript caught Trump talking about an unknown woman — now identified by the Dailymail.com as Entertainment Tonight co-host Nancy O'Dell “I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try to f*ck her,” Trump added, “She was married.”
The leaked audio goes on to say that he tried to win her over by taking her furniture shopping. “I moved on her like a b*tch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married,” Trump said on the tape. “Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”
But the Republican candidate was quick to respond after the tape was exposed late on Friday night. He took to Twitter to make an apology about his behavior in the past.
“I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade-old video are one of them,” Trump said as part of his video apology video on Twitter.
“Anyone who knows me, knows these words don’t reflect who I am. I said it, I was wrong, and I apologize,” Trump said in the video.
So far, Trump told the Wall Street Journal there will be “zero chance” he’ll pull back his fight to win the race for President, even though some supporters are pulling back their endorsements. He even sent out a tweet early Saturday morning, claiming: “Certainly has been an interesting 24 hours!”
Even Billy Bush, who is now a brand-new member of the Today show was facing backlash on Friday after the tape was released. But he has also come forward in a statement: “Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed.” Added Bush, “It’s no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry.”
